The Galley Party Hostel in Shkodër, Albania, is inviting street artists, muralists, and creatives from across the Balkans and Europe to take part in the first-ever Galley Grand Art Expo. This isn’t just an art event—it’s a full-blown experience where music, parties, and artistic expression collide.
From April 1st to 7th, the walls of our hostel—inside and out—will become a living, breathing gallery. Whether you’re into graffiti, large-scale murals, or intricate graphic art, this is your chance to transform our spaces into a masterpiece that lasts. Each room, hallway, and outdoor wall will carry the energy of the artists who leave their mark, making The Galley Party Hostel more than just a place to stay, but an immersive artistic destination.
While the creative process unfolds throughout the week, the Grand Expo and judging will take place on April 8th, showcasing every piece in its full glory. The excitement doesn’t end there—your work will also enter an online competition from April 7th to 9th, allowing people from around the world to admire and vote for their favorite pieces. Winners will be announced on April 9th, with cash prizes awarded to the most outstanding contributions.
What’s in It for You?
The Galley Party Hostel is providing free accommodation in our dorms from April 1st to 7th, giving selected artists a place to stay while they bring their vision to life. We’re also covering all art supplies, ensuring that participants have the tools they need to create something truly spectacular.
For those looking to win big, we’re offering cash prizes:
• The first-place winner will receive €300.
• The second-place winner will take home €200.
• The third-place winner will be awarded €100.
• A special Social Media Prize of €200 will go to the artist whose work creates the biggest buzz online.
Who Can Apply and What to Expect
The Galley Grand Art Expo welcomes all artistic styles, from graffiti artists and muralists to graphic designers and painters. To participate, artists must submit their applications in advance, as only 10 will be selected for this exclusive event.
We encourage themes that celebrate travel, adventure, Albanian history and culture (bonus points for references to Shkodër and Northern Albania), party life, and bold, expressive creativity. Once selected, all artists will receive photos of the available spaces for their artwork—wall selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
To ensure a smooth creative process, artists must submit their final art supply list by March 25th. If any artist prefers to bring their own supplies, they should provide purchase receipts to The Galley for potential reimbursement.
