What It’s Like to Volunteer at The Galley?
As part of our team, you’ll play an active role in keeping the good times rolling at the most social hostel in town. Your main tasks will include:
✅ Helping at reception and assisting guests
✅ Leading daily activities such as sightseeing, thrift shopping, boat trips, and hiking adventures
✅ Being a party promoter on our legendary pub crawls
✅ Keeping the hostel clean and welcoming
But there’s more! If you have a creative or specialized skill, we also offer roles in:
🎨 Mural Art & Design – Leave your mark on the hostel walls!
📸 Content Creation – Capture the magic and share it with the world.
🎭 Event Planning – Help organize unforgettable parties & social events.
⛰️ Adventure Guiding – Lead hikes, lake days, and local excursions.
🔧 Maintenance & Repairs – Keep the hostel running smoothly.
At night, we bring people together with homemade group meals and take our guests to some of the coolest (and cheapest) bars and clubs in town. Whether you’re hosting drinking games, sharing travel stories, or dancing until sunrise, you’ll be part of the reason people say:

What We’re Looking For
We want sociable, energetic, and responsible people who know how to have fun but also get the job done. You’ll fit right in if you:
✅ Love meeting new people and making them feel welcome.
✅ Take initiative and work well in a team environment.
✅ Have a positive attitude and bring good vibes wherever you go.
✅ Are a solo traveler (we sometimes accept pairs of friends, but no couples).
✅ Can stay for at least one month (with a two-week probation period to ensure it’s a great fit).
While experience is a bonus, it’s not required—we’re more interested in your personality, energy, and willingness to contribute.
